What sort of things can I do to raise funds to reach my goal BEFORE THE EVENT DAY?

add remove
  1. Ask your friends, workmates, neighbours, and family for donations;
  2. Organise a "Movie Night" at your place! Invite, colleagues, friends and family, in support of Stomp the Past - A Walk for Suicide Prevention. Sell tickets ... offer snacks like popcorn and drinks, etc;
  3. Update your personal fundraising page online... share your story ... tell your iewers what they can expect from your stall on the event day;
  4. What about a "Good Old Fashioned Board Game Night"? Like the movie night, invite, colleagues, friends and family, in support of Stomp the Past - A Walk for Suicide Prevention. Sell tickets ... offer snacks and maybe even small prizes for the winner;
  5. Stomp the Path ... "Karaoke Style"! Make it a night of singing for suicide prevention and charge a donation per song. It will be a blast.
There is so much more ... you could even have a garage sale, get rid of some old used books, maybe host a quiz or trivia night ... let your imagination run free.

The Cause

What is Stomp the Path about?

add remove

Education on suicide awareness is about creating a well-informed, compassionate society that can respond effectively to those in need and work towards preventing tragic losses, and this education is a passion of Have Hope; Inc.

THE CAUSE ... Stomp the Path – A Walk for Suicide Awareness is a way we can STOMP OUT the stigma, BREAK DOWN the misconceptions, and EMPOWER people by education … BUT

We need a great deal of funds to do those powerful things!

So, join us and raise those funds for STOMP THE PATH – A WALK FOR SUICIDE AWARENESS!

The Event Day

What to bring to Stomp The Path.

add remove

Be sure to come to Stomp The Path prepared.

Check the forecast the night before and be prepared for inclement weather.

Here is a list of things that teams should be sure to have handy on the day:

  • Small weighted Marquee or Tent (please remember that NO PEGS are allowed to be used in the grounds at Akoonah Park)
  • Folding chairs, plastic sheeting or rubber-backed rug (good on cold or damp ground)
  • Portable table, and something to sell (to fundraise) - and weights to hold down the table if necessary
  • Site decorations and team banners, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and lip balm
  • Comfortable walking/running shoes, warm clothing (pants, jackets, beanies, gloves, etc.)
  • Wet weather gear (raincoat, poncho, umbrella, etc.)
  • A change of clothes
  • Team costumes, if you want to dress up (just an inside tip, by the way, there may be prizes for best team outfits)
  • Spending money and loose change (to purchase food, and merchandise, and goods being sold by other teams for fund-raising)
  • Camera to capture those special moments!

Registration

Why is my registration ticket FREE?

add remove

We have decided to NOT charge a registration fee so no-one misses out on joining in, however this means that we are relying on the generosity of donations to support the cost of all the running expenses of the Stomp the Path event on October 12th, plus all the costs of setting up the administration, the website, and so on … it is huge!

How many people can we have in a team?

We recommend 6-12 people per team; to allow enough room at your allocated site in the arena so all members of the team can enjoy the event. If you have more than 12 in your team, consider splitting up into separate teams.
